Child Safety & Children's Privacy

1. Who the App is built for

Destina Edu – Parent App is designed to be used by parents and legal guardians of enrolled students, and, where a school configures it, by authorised school staff. The App is not designed or marketed for direct, unsupervised use by children, and we do not knowingly permit a child to register their own parent/guardian account.

2. Parent/guardian access

A parent or guardian account is linked to a specific student record based on the authorisation established by the student's school. The school is responsible for determining which parent or guardian is authorised to access a student's information. Once linked, the App shows that parent or guardian only the information the school has chosen to share for that student, such as attendance, academic updates and school communications.

3. Authorised school access

Schools that use Destina Edu determine which categories of student information are shared through the App and are responsible for verifying which parent or guardian accounts are linked to which students. We process this information under the school's direction and do not independently decide what student information to publish.

4. How student information is handled

Student information made available through the App, such as name, class, attendance and academic updates, is personal information and is only shown to the parent or guardian account(s) that the school has authorised and linked to that student. We do not use student information for advertising, and we do not sell student information to any third party.

5. Restrictions on unauthorised access

• Each parent/guardian account can only view information for students explicitly linked to it by the school
• Authentication is required to access the App, and access may be restricted or the account may be disabled where necessary for security.
• Internal access to student information by our staff is limited to what is necessary to provide support or maintain the App

6. How parents/guardians can raise a privacy concern

If you have a question or concern about how your or your child's information is being handled, contact us at destinainfotech@gmail.com. We will acknowledge your message and look into the concern raised. If your concern relates to information a school has shared or to a school's own decisions about what to share, we may need to involve the school to resolve it.

7. How to report a child-safety concern

If you believe a child is at risk, that the App is being misused in a way that could harm a child, or that inappropriate content involving a child has appeared anywhere in connection with the App, please report it immediately to destinainfotech@gmail.com (mark the subject line "Child safety report"). If a child is in immediate danger, please also contact local emergency services or your local child-protection authority right away — do not wait for a response from us.

8. How reports are handled

Reports of suspected child-safety issues are treated as a priority. Depending on the nature of the report, we may temporarily restrict the account(s) involved while we investigate, remove content that violates our Terms, notify the relevant school, and, where legally required or appropriate, notify the relevant authorities. We will handle information about the reporter appropriately and will not disclose the reporter's identity to the subject of a report except where necessary for safety, investigation, legal compliance, or other legitimate purposes.

9. A note on legal compliance

We take children's privacy seriously and design the App with the goal of limiting data collection about children to what a school chooses to share for legitimate educational communication purposes. For processing to which India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act) applies, we follow the requirements applicable to the relevant processing activity, including applicable requirements relating to children's personal data.

We do not use children's personal data for targeted advertising or for tracking or behavioural monitoring for advertising or profiling purposes. We do not claim that the App is certified or independently certified as compliant with any particular children's-privacy law.
